Workbook is a class designed to teach new machine owners how to maximize the use of their machine. Workbook classes are specific to particular machines and are available free of charge to those who purchase their machine from Keep Me In Stitches. For those who purchase their machine at another store there is a fee of $450 for single needle embroidery machines, and $650 for multi-needle embroidery machines.

In order to provide individualized instruction, class size is limited. Please call in advance to reserve your space. It is very important that students bring their machine and all of the accessories received at time of purchase. Students may need to purchase a workbook for this class. Workbook costs vary.

201 Trapunto Block Technique ST (Class 1 of 1)

Trapunto blocks add dimension and interest to any quilt. In this class you will learn basic Trapunto and machine quilting techniques on a block that can later be used to add visual interest to a quilt, handbag, pillow, or wherever your imagination takes you.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Machine Quilting Class or equivalent

Kimmy is made in the 5x7 hoop, and with a little help from your sewing machine, this one-of-a-kind doll is perfect for that little sweetheart in your life!

Kits will be available for purchase with the Kimmy Doll components, you will provide your own stabilizer and threads. You won't be able to make just one!

Introduction to Machine Quilting (NT Class 4 of 4)

This is the total quilting workshop for beginners. Learn to master techniques such as rotary cutting, strip piecing, perfect points, making the quilt sandwich, basic machine quilting, and binding. Students will complete the quilt within the four sessions with guidance from the teacher. A KMIS employee will gladly assist in selecting fabrics and other materials for the quilt prior to class (at least two days in advance). The final product is a lovely quilt that looks much more difficult than it really is to make.

102 Serger University (ST Class 1 of 1)

Learn how to use all of the features your serger has to offer. In this class, students will learn about threading, tensions, machine settings, roll hemming, decorative threads, and other serger techniques.

This class is for individuals who do NOT own Baby Lock ExtraordinAir™ and/or Jet-Air Threading™ sergers.

12 Months of Christmas - Kindle, e-Reader, or iPad Sleeve (ST Class 1 of 1)

This is the second in the 12 Months of Christmas series. Each month we will offer a class geared toward gift giving that can be used for any occassion. By Christmas, you could have 12 gifts ticked off your list!

Most everyone has a Kindle, Nook, iPad, or some other type of device these days. Sometimes you just want to drop it in your bag without the bulky cover. In this class we'll make simple sleeves for our devices. You'll need to know which devise you're making it for so it can be sized correctly.

Floriani Embroidery Suite (ST Class 1 of 1)

This continuing education class will be offered every other month, and will focus on creating a design that you can go home and stitch out. Basic knowledge of the Floriani Embroidery Suite software in recommended.

101 Miss Violet Top or Dress (ST Class 1 of 1)

Peasant style baby dress (Newborn – 2) with diaper cover, or girl’s dress or top (size 3-7), has elastic gathered neckline and sleeve. A touch of honeycomb hand smocking that does not require pre-pleating adds a charming touch to the center front. This project is super easy and quick to complete for the novice or experienced seamstress to enjoy making. Add a fabric yo-yo and leaf applique embellishment if you wish.

This garment is very quickly constructed on the serger or sewing machine.

If you would like to try one of our Babylock sergers with white or cream thread for class, please reserve one in advance for $10. Rental may be applied to machine purchase. You will still need a regular machine for stitching hems and casings. An alternative to the serger is a zig-zag seam finish. If you own a serger please bring it—you will be glad you did! You must have your serger threaded and ready to sew before class.
